This season INNAI RED looks to the east, inspired by the delicate precision of the Japanese art of folding and formation, origami. A collection that unites minimalist severity with the romanticism of the flowers of the Land of the Rising Sun.

References are made to the many details contained in the pieces which are structurally designed but with a feminine flair. The Orient inspiration not taken literally, but design elements are observed and infused into this collection of sophisticated wear. A marriage of Japanese artisanry with INNAI RED sensibility and aesthetics of sorts.

Refined use of the recognisable kimono silhouettes, obi belts for added waist definition, flair to formal cuts. Folds and drapes on these pieces works best with the use of luxurious silk, taffeta, neoprene, crepe-de-chine and breathable linen offering stylish options for different occasions and needs.

The Japanese inspirations are present but subtle including Japanese tassel knots on dresses, overlap culottes resembling ninja pants, pleats that forms into a fan, and asymmetry hemlines. Other design elements derives their style notes from modern Japan such as kimono wraps, trapeze-cut jackets, midi length column skirts and clean lines dresses.

The use of prints throughout the collection is a sophisticated take on traditional Japanese prints—from cherry blossoms to birds. Arty floral arrangements in blooming spectrum are set against opulent fabrics for an immediate luxurious look and feel.

The finer details are always an important element of any INNAI RED collection and such is the case with OREDGAMI. Luxe embellishments with 3D effects using glass beads, crystals, acrylic flowers and copper beads accentuate designs and prints, adding sublime glamour. One is also able to appreciate origami folds and ornaments that are sewn on to dresses.

Colors are vivid and celebrate the splendour of Spring in Japan with the use of siren red, white, fuchsia and chartreuse.

The INNAI RED OREDGAMI runway pieces are available and sold exclusively at the INNAI RED boutique.
